Masterchef All Stars
From mid June until now I was invited to be part of Masterchef All Stars which is going to air on Thursday 26 July.
It has been hard, with weeks of exciting, challenging and frenetic cooking and I was thrown back into the world of early morning starts, late finishes and the stress of unexpected challenges and of course …the ever present clock ticking ominously overhead. It was back to living in the MC house seeing those glorious wintry morning sunrises – it brought back almost forgotten [or suppressed !] memories of series 3. Only this time there were 4 from each of the previous series and it was lovely to get to know all the others.
They were such a great bunch of people to work and share a house with. I must admit I was nervous at the start as it was daunting having to cook with the people who inspired me to get on the show – but they were all so friendly and supportive and I couldn’t have had a better experience. Thanks all you guys.
It has been hard but fun at the same time, and we were all cooking for our favourite charities, mine was Médecins Sans Frontières [Doctors without borders] a charity we have been supporting for years.
The challenges were horrendous and the times allowed impossibly scary, but I am pleased to say we all took it on, and had fun doing it – some amazing cooking by every one and I surprised myself doing things I never thought I would – Now catching up with neglected work, finalising the book and doing a few more illustrations and back to de-stressing by tending the veggie patches and herbs.
It is going to be 3 exciting weeks of viewing to look forward to..
